Ms. Brooks-Taylor's Bio
Welcome to my class here at Ridgeline Academy. I’d like to introduce myself. My name is Amanda Brooks-Taylor. I will be your student’s homeroom, Language Arts, and Social Studies teacher. This will be my fifth year teaching here at Ridgeline Academy and my thirteenth year teaching.
A little bit about me, I was born and raised here in the Valley of the Sun. I love the heat and dislike the cold. I am an avid reader and have a book with me at all times, you never know when you are going to get a second to read. Other hobbies include knitting, crocheting, swimming, and watching movies with family and friends. When I am not teaching, you can find me wrangling my zoo of animals at home, which include two cats, two dogs, a Bearded Dragon, and a Box Turtle named Myrtle.
I attended school in Cave Creek and graduated from Cactus Shadows High School. I attended Arizona State University West in 2002, and received my Bachelor’s Degree in Education. I began teaching in 2004 at Desert Arroyo Middle School in Cave Creek. It was an experience teaching at a school where I had attended middle school myself. My former teachers became my mentors and helped to shape my philosophy that teaching is a partnership between parents, teachers, administrators and students. That with these key ingredients, all children can and will achieve their dreams. With that said, I am very excited to work alongside of you to help our students grow into the kind of person they want to be. During the year, I am always an email or phone call away. Please feel free to email me with any questions or concerns at [email protected]. Once again, welcome to my classroom and another year here at Ridgeline Academy.
